We Had Tough Time Admitting Him In Rehab!

We knew something was wrong with him; he certainly was upset, it was showing on his face. Those dark circles, red eyes and stressed out expressions on his face were more expressive than his rough voice. He was silent, had a kind of lost expressions on his face, which shattered our hearts. We were observing him for months, things had certainly changed with him, and he was not the same jovial and light hearted man we knew. Something was eating him from within which he did not share even with his wife. We visited them that Saturday for regular weekly meeting. She broke down and we had to confront him. The cat was now out of the bag, he was addicted to drugs. It took us moments to sink in, but soon we caught our courage and confronted him. We did not know what to say to a drug addict, how to go about it. We tried talking to him, but in vain. He would not respond and did not admit what he was doing was wrong. He merely repeated that it gave him pleasure and killed the stress. After many attempts, we had an idea. His 10 year old daughter had been witnessing his episodes at home; she also wanted to do something for her beloved Dadda. We knew touching his heart through someone he loves dearly would do the trick so we got her spoke to him, her loving words and caring touch melted his walls and he came alive. At first he cried his heart out, narrated how he fell for this deadly habit. We could clearly see his conscious mind telling us to help him to get over this habit. We instantly took him to a doctor nearby.

He referred us to an orange county rehab. We visited it and were awestruck with the view and ambiance of that rehab. We could not have imagined a rehab in the lap of nature equipped with state of art instruments and highly skilled professional staff and warm clinical experts. He was surely in safe hands, the rehab assured us his complete and long term recovery. They proved their word true, today our friend is leading a normal life. He thanks the Orange County rehab million times ,so do we ,for getting him back to us. Today he is an alumnus there and attends their seminars and loves to share his experience for those under recovery process.
